PREP NOTEBOOK: Indians spoil Kahny's debut

The St. Stephens boys basketball team spoiled the debut of Pat Kahny as head coach on Tuesday, knocking off the Blue Devils, 65-20.

Chris Hefner led Saint (1-0) with 13 points, Zach Houston scored 12 points and Kerigan Farley added 10 points.

Alex White paced Maiden (0-1) with six points, while Austin Wright added four points.

Women's college basketball

CVCC 92, Thomasville Prep JV 63

Led by Matric Sweezy's 21 points, the Lady Bucs picked up their sixth win of the season on Tuesday.

Kadesha Gibbs added 13 points for the Lady Bucs (6-0).

Moengaroa Subritzky led Thomasville Prep (3-7) with 20 points and seven rebounds.

Men's college basketball

CVCC 78, Caldwell Community College

The Bucs defeated the cross-town rival Cobras in Hudson on Tuesday.

Preston Earle led the Bucs (5-1) with a game-high 31 points, connected on all 10 of his free throw attempts. Isaiah Cuthbertson chipped in 20 points and 10 rebounds for CVCC.

K.J. Jones led the Cobras with 26 points.
