Millard Lee "Bud" Peeler, 69, of Maiden, passed away Sept. 23, 2010, at his residence.
The family will have a visitation Saturday from 6-8 p.m. at Lawing's Chapel Baptist Church.

William “Shorty” Craven Kerns, 70, of Claremont, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2010, in Brunswick County. The family will receive friends Sunday from 1-2:45 p.m. at Burke Mortuary in Newton, prior to the service.

Tonda Ann Beam, 46, of Claremont, died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010, at her residence after being diagnosed with cancer two weeks ago. The Beam family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Drum Funeral Home & Cremation Services of Conover.

Laura Elizabeth Bumgarner Yount, 92, of Newton, died unexpectedly at her residence Thursday, Sept. 23, 2010. The Yount family has entrusted the funeral arrangements to Willis-Reynolds Funeral Home & Crematory in Newton.
