Cops seek tractor-trailer involved in fatal Henderson wreck

HENDERSON, N.C. (AP) — Authorities in Henderson are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in a wheelchair.

Police tell local media outlets they got a report of a person being hit by a tractor-trailer just after 9 p.m. Wednesday.

Police say the person who had been struck was dead at the scene. Authorities say the truck driver fled the scene on US 1 South toward Vanco Mill Road without contacting authorities.

The name of the person killed has not been released, and authorities are still investigating.
