Chosen out of thousands of applicants, Lake Hickory Country Club Director of Instruction Allen Burton has been named to the Top 50 U.S. Teachers list by the U.S. Kids Golf Foundation.

Since 2004, the Top 50 Kids Teacher Award has honored the elite professionals who have dedicated their careers to developing junior golf in their communities and who are known for their overall excellence and commitment to serving youth.

Burton was one of five instructors in North Carolina who made the list, including Maggie Simons (Charlotte), Steve Stahl (Charlotte), Fred Bond (Monroe) and Kathy Bounds (Raleigh).

“It’s a great honor to be chosen from so many great golf teachers and coaches across the country,” Burton said. “It’s really more of a testament to the many accomplishments of the Allen Burton Golf Academy’s students and the passion we all share for the game of golf.”

Burton is currently the Lake Hickory Country Club Director of Instruction, and he operates the Allen Burton Golf Academy. He has coached more than 30 golfers to collegiate scholarships and also has students from all over the Southeastern region who have been under his guidance.
