DALLAS, N.C. (AP) — A Lincoln County woman has been charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of her baby, who was found dead on a couch amid squalor.

Media outlets report 30-year-old Stephanie Tillman was previously charged with counts of neglect and child abuse in connection with the Christmas Eve death. Sheriff's Captain Tim Johnson says the new charge was filed Tuesday as authorities furthered their investigation.

Jerry Allen, Tillman's boyfriend and the infant's father, called 911 saying he came home from work to find his 7-month-old son unresponsive, naked and alone on the living room sofa. Authorities say he found the couple's daughters, ages 4 and 3, naked but unharmed.

Authorities say Tillman was high on prescription drugs when they arrived at her home.

Tillman's attorney, Scott Hudson, couldn't be reached for comment.
