Two Men Facing Theft Charges in Denver Area

Lincolnton, NC – Lincoln County Sheriff’s detectives have charged two men with stealing trailers from separate locations in the Denver area.

Detective Greg Hager began the investigation into the theft of an enclosed trailer from a Burton Lane, Denver, NC residence on January 30, 2017. The resident reported the 5 by 8 was removed from the residence without their knowledge.

On February 3, 2017 Catawba County Sheriff’s Office Detective T. Whisnant located the trailer at the home of Johnny Dwayne Allison, 41, of Mount Pleasant Road, Sherrills Ford, NC. The trailer was recovered and returned to the owner.

Detective Hager interviewed Allison at the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office jail where he was being held on unrelated charges. Following that interview felony warrants were obtained on Allison and Randy Everette Spivey, 43, of Eli Lane, Denver, NC.

An additional victim was developed during the investigation when officers learned the two men had also stolen a trailer from a home under construction on Camp Ground Road, Denver, NC.

Both men were charged with two felony counts each of Larceny and Possession of Stolen Goods. Allison was arrested on March 3, 2017. He was taken before a magistrate and released on a $10,000 secured bond.

Spivey is currently in the custody of the North Carolina Department of Corrections on an unrelated charge and his warrants have not bee served.
